Cotton shirts

The Fair Trade Cooperative Brac Aarong in Bangladesh is centered around the fabrication of textile products in 350 rural cooperatives, with the intention of giving work to more than 30,000 people, some 85% of them being women in precarious social situations.

Their textile products include the T-shirts that we´ve sold in Madrid since 1996. In disadvantaged countries like Bangladesh, textile fabrication has become an alternative principal export. Still, it´s estimated that 20% of textile industry workers are younger than 13 years old and receive salaries less than 6.50 euros for their work.

Buying these shirts aids the work of local cooperatives and NGOs like Brac Aarong. Choosing Fair Trade products contributes to the creation of a more just society in which workers enjoy better working conditions and their children can attend school.
