Productor / (Español) Bombolulu

Bomolulu, an organization headquartered in Mombasa, is a project of the Association of the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK). Since 1968 the artisans that work in the organization have clearly demonstrated their ability to combat poverty through the creation and sale of crafts.

The main objective of Bombolulu is that physically disabled people overcome their limitations by means of working and become fully integrated members of society in their communities. Today there are 150 craftspersons working for Bombolulu, divided into eleven different producer groups.

In addition to their monthly salary, each worker has access to a home without having to pay anything, or to help paying for a home. Today 80% of the workers are living in houses provided by the project. All of these houses are equipped with water and electricity.
